Hardware – ODBLINKMX+ (You migt have to downgrade the firmware via the phone application)
I’ve heard that the ODBLINK LX can write to its cheaper. like 50$ I think.
Using PCM Hammer the shit is a breeze.
Connect to the ODBLINKMX+ with your laptop via Bluetooth.
Open PCM Hammer and read the instructions it’s super important that you do (Make sure your car battery is charged.)
Random Side Note: Most actions are safe, the scary ones are the full writes, almost all the other options are recoverable a full PCM write is NOT sometimes, full writes always have a possibility of fucking up the PCM, keep a spare nearby. After your first full write every change you make you can just do calibration writes.
After you do a full read of your PCM then you must download Tunerpro RT, and find the XDF file for your PCM OS you can do this by searching the serial number and looking for the xdf Extension. Example of a google search: OS12212156 filetype:xdf or just look up the os number which yields more results.
The XDF file that you will use in tunerpro, just or organizes and defines all the data structures in the .bin file you read from your PCM
After that making edit is easy, but you gotta know about cars in order to make these edits, if you dont know or have no idea what you’re looking at GOOGLE IT to learn what’s going on, etc, make your edits and then write your calibration with PCM Hammer.
Be careful tho shit can break at any moment, I did about 30+ writes with PCM hammer with the same pcm and nothing has yet to break.
At this moment I use a combo of the above method and HPTUNERs, I use the above method to make changes and write and I use hp tuners to scan and poll the pids and my wide band and make adjustments off of that.
