The gist of the article is that learning increases your IQ, but not the normal learning I mean in a sense of stimulating your mind as much as possible
I’ve seen different options that people recommend, there are others that are well studied like chess and other games that make you focus and think.
Overall keep in mind this article was mostly about learning new things, instructing users to learn a new skill, and in addition to that cardio is also boosting but they specifically recommended sprints which are taxing on the body but releases the most endorphins due to the high intensity, an alternative would be HITT in general with any exercise.
TLDR;
Learn new skills, DO NOT LEARN NEW INFORMATION like reading a book normally, new skills cause the brain to struggle and force to it push past its limits.
examples; brush teeth with your non-dominant hand, learn a new language, learn an instrument.
Side Note: I mean you could read a book but implement a technique to stimulate your mind more.
examples; Sit in the character’s place, eat, breathe, sleep the character, write the rest of the story memorize parts of the book that recall them white writing the story have it all interconnected, finish the story with more intertwined plot points, go past that dissect the main char and extrapolate the main characteristics that make them function.
As long as you are using the main core functions of your brain you should be fine.
maybe work on all these examples at once, spending 15 min on each item at a time and swtich.
just to confuse it more
SIDE NOTE: this is very reminiscent of Arnold’s way of training the muscles. (YOU HAVE TO CONFUSE THE MUCLES)
Do activities that stimulate multiple parts of your brain, but make sure you try your best don’t just give it half effort.
example; Dual N-Back, chess, checkers, etc
Regulate and stimulate hormones.
Exercise.
